Service Description

NTDSE School Health Services are provided by a Certified School Nurse (CSN) and by Registered Nurses (RN).

The nurses provide medical care and education to all NTDSE students and assist the classroom teacher in providing health education curriculum.  The nurses provide consultation to parents and will collaborate with a family's doctors and other medical personnel in order to develop a comprehensive health plan for all students.  The nurses ensure that the classroom staff is familiar with, and trained in, each student's health plan.  The nurses will update health plans as needed.

NTDSE Nurses are responsible for ensuring that all federal and state mandates are observed and that student health records comply with federal and state laws.

On a yearly basis, the nursing team provides hearing and vision screening for all NTDSE students.
