Service Description

The Adaptive Physical Education (APE) teacher provides an APE curriculum to students with low incidence disabilities who are unable to participate fully in the general physical education program. Services may be consultative, integrated in a general education P.E. class, or provided as a part of a student's placement in an NTDSE program. Instruction is aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards with an emphasis on athletics, physical motor fitness, fundamental motor patterns, body mechanics, motor planning and sequencing, as well as sensory modulation.
